Welcome

It won’t be long before they’re under starter’s orders in the race for The 37th Ryder Cup. The venue is Valhalla Golf Club, close to Louisville which is home to horse racing’s famous Kentucky Derby. Valhalla, designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened in 1986, soon established itself as a world class course and is ranked as one of the top 100 in America. It was the scene of Tiger Woods’ play off victory over Bob May in the US PGA Championhip in 2000; host to the 2004 Senior PGA Championship and becomes only the third American course to stage those two big events as well as a Ryder Cup.

Expect American pride to be wounded when the players step on to the first tee with the hosts having lost the last three Ryder Cup contests. Indeed, in the last two clashes in this biennial series they have been crushed by 181/2 points to 91/2. Whatever the outcome this time, Kentuckians know what it means to be generous hosts and model sports fans and they won’t miss this opportunity to showcase Louisville and the game of golf to the world.

And you can be part of The Ryder Cup experience.
